What to expect!
2023 Walk for Literacy Activities :
Costume Contest!
Dress as your favorite story character. The best costumes will win prizes. (Pets can dress up, too!)
Free shirt for 13+
Participants 13 years old and up will get a free event t-shirt.
Disneyland Giveaway
Attendees will be able to enter the Disneyland Giveaway for a chance to win a trip to Disney for the whole family. Winner will not be drawn until December.
Kids Zone
Free face painting and other fun, hands-on activities.
Free book for Kids
Children 12 and under will get a new book to take home.
Kids Writing Contest
Kids in 1st-6th grade are invited to enter the Kids Writing Contest. You can submit your writing online - but you’re also welcome to turn it in at the Walk! Learn more here!
Donuts & Coffee
Get there early for first pick.
Resource Fair
Connect with vendors and learn about resources in the community for your family
The Walk
We’ll walk 0.8 miles around Chollas Lake. Pets (on a leash) and strollers are welcome. The path is unpaved.
