Emily Moberly, Founder and CEO of Traveling Stories, has been nominated for San Diego Magazine’s Nonprofit Visionary Award.
Every year San Diego Magazine celebrates the city’s most inspiring female leaders and entrepreneurs. Awards are given to women for the following categories:
- Woman of the Year
- Industry Leader
- Nonprofit Visionary
- Rising Star
- Military Leader
Kelly Abbott, Chairman of the Board, had this to say in regards to Emily’s nomination: “Emily has built Traveling Stories from 2 boxes of books to helping 6,000 kids worldwide learn to love reading. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather see recognized for her leadership than her precisely because her work is so important and selfless. To top it off her drive is infectious, which inspires us in her orbit to be better every day.”
This year, a total of 189 women were nominated for all categories. Nominees will be included in the September issue of San Diego Magazine and will be honored at the Celebrating Women Event on September 25, 2018 at The Westgate Hotel. Honorees are determined by a panel of past Woman of the Year winners and are announced at the event. This is Moberly’s third time being nominated for the award.
“It’s a privilege to be honored alongside so many inspiring women,” said Moberly.
This honor is awarded to an outstanding individual in recognition of her impactful service and special contributions to their community, civic or charitable organizations. Women who’ve made an extraordinary effort, and had an extraordinary impact on others.
We are looking forward September 25th when we will hear Emily’s name as she will be taking the stage to accept the award.
