The Fight Against Sumer Slide/The Fight For Summer Reading

It may not seem it, but summer can be a tough time on the minds of young ones. Although there are so many fun activities to participate in, it is during the summer months that many students fall victim to summer slide.

You remember summer slide – that horrible ailment that occurs when students mentally shut off for a few months and forget every thing they learned the previous school year.

We at Traveling Stories understand that it can be difficult to keep your children excited about reading when there are so many other summer activities vying for their attention.

Fear not though, as we have a solution for you!

How to Encourage Your Child to Read During the Summer

Kids love events full of fun and excitement, and there is no reason reading cannot fall in to both of those categories. The real trick to keeping your child interested in reading during the summer months is to make reading fun (Well ok, even more fun than it usually is, because lets face it – reading rocks)!
